Value Beyond Extraction: Rethinking mining for a resilient future

The IGF’s 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) will explore the shift from resource extraction to value creation. The event will engage governments and other stakeholders seeking to reimagine how mineral wealth can support diversified, resilient, and sustainable economies. Sessions will advance global discussions on the future of mining and the need to ensure that mineral value addition brings broad economic, social, and environmental benefits to resource-rich countries.

The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) supports governments to advance good mining governance for the betterment of communities, economies, and the environment. The IGF supports more than 80 member countries in advancing their sustainable development goals through effective laws, policies, and regulations for the mining sector. It helps governments take action to develop inclusive and gender-equitable practices, optimize financial benefits, support livelihoods, and safeguard the environment.

All plenary sessions will include language interpretation for participants in English, French, Russian and Spanish.

The AGM is hosted by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Meeting held in person and with LISTEN LIVE.
